Bradford City announce loan signing of young Newcastle United midfielder
Bradford City have completed the loan signing of young Newcastle United midfielder Joe White.
An official announcement from the Bantams on Tuesday morning revealing the news.
The official statement from the League One club declaring: ‘Bradford City AFC is delighted to announce the loan signing of Joe White from Newcastle United for the remainder of the season. The attacking midfielder becomes the Bantams’ second January recruit, having spent the first half of the campaign with fellow Sky Bet League One side Leyton Orient.’
This is a sixth loan deal for Joe White during his time at Newcastle United, where he joined the NUFC Academy ten years ago at the age of 13.
White has previously been on loan at Hartlepool, Exeter, Crewe, MK Dons and Leyton Orient.
The Newcastle United midfielder made his senior debut for the Magpies in 2024, in the Premier League against Bournemouth.
Bradford City boss Graham Alexander explaining the signing: “Joe is a player we have admired for a while and we believe his creativity will bring an added dimension to our team. His ability on the ball is excellent, and he is willing to work hard off the ball, which suits our style. He will fit in with our group well.”
As for Joe White: “It is a great feeling, I am so happy to be here. It is such an amazing and massive club. Hopefully, I can bring my game to this team, which is doing very well at the moment. I spoke to Graham Alexander in the summer, and since then I have watched some of the games whilst I have been on loan in the first part of the season. I feel like I can really excel.”

He joins the Bantams at a great time as they push for promotion to the Championship, they are third top at the moment, only two points off second and five off Cardiff at the top, Bradford with a game in hand as well on the others towards the top of League One.
