Confirmed Newcastle team v PSV as Wissa, Tonali, Gordon, Trippier all start
The confirmed Newcastle team v PSV has now been announced.
Newcastle United looking to make it four Champions League wins this season.
Eddie Howe’s side have picked up ten points from their opening six (of eight) Swiss League matches.
A win tonight would guarantee Newcastle United at least a play-off place for a two-legged tie, to decide who goes through to the last 16 knockout stages.
Whilst victories tonight and in Paris next Wednesday against PSG, would almost certainly see automatic progression to the last 16 via a top eight finish in the Swiss League stage of the Champions League.
Newcastle team v PSV:
Pope, Tripper, Thiaw, Botman, Hall, Tonali, Joelinton, Bruno, Barnes, Gordon, Wissa
So that means only one change from the eleven that started against Wolves at Molineux on Sunday.
Yoane Wissa coming in for Nick Woltemade.
SUBS:
Thompson, Ramsdale, Woltemade, Elanga, Willock, Alex Murphy, Neave, Ramsey, Shahar, Miley
With seven or more players ruled out, the matchday squad getting stretched, with a number of teenagers getting their chance to be named on the bench.
