Shock news as Kevin Keegan has been diagnosed with cancer.

An official Newcastle United statement revealing the news on Wednesday night.

Announcing the devastating news, the statement reading: ‘Kevin Keegan was recently admitted to hospital for further evaluation of ongoing abdominal symptoms. These investigations have revealed a diagnosis of cancer, for which Kevin will undergo treatment.’

I am really devastated by this news, as no doubt so many other Newcastle United fans will be.

King Kev is a true NUFC legend.

As a player he saved us back in 1982, what a brilliant couple of seasons they were, unforgettable.

Then it was beyond incredible when he returned as manager in February 1992 to do the same, what a five years they were.

Kevin Keegan even came back again in January 2008 but even he couldn’t save us from Mike Ashley. The then owner’s treatment of King Kev arguably the worst of the lot from him, which is saying something.

The official statement goes on to read: ‘Kevin is grateful to the medical team for their intervention and ongoing care. During this difficult time, the family are requesting privacy, and will be making no further comment.’

Our thoughts are with you King Kev, always a Newcastle United legend and we really hope the very best for you.
