Rob Edwards watched on as Sunday’s match ended Wolves 0 Newcastle 0.

A game of few big chances at either end.

Newcastle United controlling possession, twice as much as the home side, but unable to take advantage against a packed deep defence.

Ron Edwards saying after the final whistle: “Newcastle have got very good players but overall the game went how we expected it to. I am really pleased with the clean sheet, we don’t give much away.”

Wolves have now conceded only two goals in their last four Premier League matches as they are unbeaten these past three weeks. Winning two and drawing three in all competitions.

Rob Edwards speaking to BBC Match of the Day after Wolves 0 Newcastle 0: “A really solid performance, really committed and we showed a lot of spirit. Newcastle United are obviously a very good team. I thought without the ball we had lots of control. When we had to attack we did, we looked a threat on the counter-attack.”

The game was largely a non-event in terms of entertainment and goalmouth action, but the Wolves boss looking for the positives…“It was a really committed performance. People will look at results and think it has clicked all of a sudden, but performances were there before that. We are not there yet, we understand there is a lot of work still. The boys are with it, the crowd were with us all throughout the game. We are making some good steps forward.”
