It has now been made public how many tickets Newcastle United fans have been allocated for the cup matches at Manchester City and Aston Villa.

Away tickets always at a premium and vastly oversubscribed these days.

The days of terracing and able to take huge numbers on a regular basis, now long in the past.

Premier League away games normally seeing Newcastle United fans restricted to a maximum of 3,000 tickets, sometimes far less.

However, with cup allocations, that often offers a rare chance for many more tickets to be made available for travelling fans.

In the Carabao Cup, away fans are entitled to a minimum of 10% of stadium capacity.

Manchester City have a capacity of around 52,000 at the Etihad but actually Newcastle United fans have been allocated far more than 10% of capacity. Instead of just over five thousand, NUFC Fans actually allocated 6,500 tickets for the Carabao Cup semi-final second leg.

Aston Villa have also given Newcastle United fans more than the bare minimum the rules dictate.

The FA Cup rules are that away fans are entitled to at last 15% of stadium capacity. Villa Park holds around 41,000 and Newcastle United fans have been allocated 6,250 tickets for this FA Cup, slightly more than that 15% minimum.

So a very healthy 12,750 away tickets spread over the two cup matches.
