3 Positives and 3 Negatives to take from Newcastle 2 Spurs 2

It ended Newcastle 2 Spurs 2.

Ahead of each game we ask one of our writers to come up with three positives and three negatives following the match.

An interesting Premier League match at St James’ Park.

Plenty to talk about after this Spurs game.

On this occasion it is David Punton:

POSITIVES

Glass half full

We have played Man City at home, Everton away and then Spurs at home in the last three Premier League games.

I think you would have taken a haul of seven points from that run of fixtures.

If we had drawn away Everton then won at home to Spurs, we’d probably be happier, but it’s same haul of points at the end of the day.

Brilliant Bruno

It was a great goal from Bruno, who was rested and then emerged from the bench to break the deadlock.

The Brazilian is worth his weight in gold.

He’s a class midfield player. Yes, he needed a rest for the game, Howe was about right on that score, and he was thankfully able to come on galvanise the team.

Miley looking the part

At the tender age of 19 Lewis Miley is looking ready to play more first team games.

It’s really encouraging, and he’s got plenty more developing left to do just yet. He’s a great prospect, one we can’t allow to leave.

No more talk of him going on loan to Palace!

NEGATIVES

Jeepers keepers

In the absence of Nick Pope it’s all there for Ramsdale.

Pope undoubtedly made some big errors, but against Spurs, could Ramsdale have done more for the second goal?

Pope’s absence also leaves us a bit threadbare. We’re currently one knock to Aaron Ramsdale away, from having to start John Ruddy in net.

The late late shows

It was fifth time that we have conceded in added time this season. Please United, make it stop.

Can they focus on this in training more? It’s poor game management.

Too many times this season we’ve had some late sickeners.

We’re better than this, right?

Sandro fears

It appears Sandro Tonali may have an injury after this game.

He’s a key player, so let’s hope it’s not too bad.

He’d be a big miss if he has to miss the games we’ve got ahead of us.
