A new BBC report has named their latest Fantasy Premier League team of the week, with reasons explaining the selection of this Newcastle United player.

This is ahead of midweek, the nineteenth round of Premier League fixtures.

Newcastle United taking on Burnley on Tuesday, a 7.30pm kick-off.

Eddie Howe and his Newcastle United players looking to bounce back after Manchester United fluked that 1-0 on Boxing Day.

United the dominant team but somehow failing to score, whilst Man U got a 24th minute goal thanks to a badly defended corner and then they (Man U) ended up spending almost the entire second half defending.

BBC Sport journalist Thomas Woods making his choice of Fantasy Premier League team of the week, including an explanation on the Newcastle United player he has selected, who look set to line up against Burnley.

BBC Sport Fantasy Premier League team of the week (Their fantasy football price/value detailed, plus who they are playing against) ahead of the weekend:

Keeper and defence

John Victor, Nottingham Forest, keeper, £4m – Everton (h)

Nikola Milenkovic, Nottingham Forest, £5.1m – Everton (h)

Patrick Dorgu, Manchester United, £4.1m – Wolves (h)

Marc Guehi, Crystal Palace, £5.2m – Fulham (h)

Lewis Hall, Newcastle, £5.2m – Burnley (a)

Hall has started six of Newcastle’s past seven games and emerged as a key attacking outlet, just as he was last season before getting injured.

In that time he’s had eight shots, created five changes and two big chances.

He passed the eye test against Manchester United in their last game, taking up loads of threatening positions and he could have scored.

Burnley, on the other hand, have failed to find the net in four of their past five home games, so a clean sheet is a real possibility too.

Midfielders

Matheus Cunha (captain), Manchester United, £8.1m – Wolves (h)

Florian Wirtz, Liverpool, £8.1m – Leeds (h)

Rayan Cherki, Manchester City, £6.7m – Sunderland (a)

Alejandro Garnacho, Chelsea, £6.4m – Bournemouth (h)

Strikers

Erling Haaland, Manchester City, £15.1m – Sunderland (a)

Hugo Ekitike, Liverpool, £9.1m – Leeds (h)

At Old Trafford, Lewis Hall was easily the best player on the pitch, including the fact he was Newcastle United’s biggest threat going forward.

Hall is an elite player, so talented, much missed when he is out injured.
