Has Eddie Howe inadvertently stumbled upon another gem?

We all know the Joelinton story, from target man to action man, when Eddie Howe played him in midfield after Ciaran Clark was sent off against Norwich.

Big Joe has never looked back, as he literally destroyed opposing midfielders.

So fast forward a few years and we have young Lewis Miley.

He made his debut a few years ago, has scored in all three competitions this season, including in the Champions League, but he’s fighting for his place against Joelinton, Tonali and Bruno. A tough ask.

There was media talk of him being loaned out and heaven forbid, following the Elliot Anderson path out of the club, but then as Jarvis Cocker sang “something changed.”

Injuries to Tino and Tripps necessitated a hasty training session where Lewis Miley was introduced to right back. And wow! He hasn’t looked back!

What a performance on Sunday, 59 passes and a 100% completion rate, plus an assist for the crucial opening goal. Throw in the winning tackles too and that was some game.

Has Eddie Howe unearthed another natural position for a player?

I’ve always felt Miley was a fraction…and just a fraction mind, too slow to play in the middle, but he looks pacey at RB. He opened his stride a few times against Crystal Palace and showed he can run quickly with the ball at his feet under control like Willock (who is the best at our club at doing that in my opinion).

The teenager is big, strong, good in the air and seems to get much more involvement at RB.

Some players are much more suited to playing the game in front of them, rather than around them. Is Miley such a player?

Amazing times.

So what about Tino? Does he shift to LB and Hall to LCM? Nice problems to have for once.

Over to you Eddie. Call it your plan B if you want…. Hahaha.
