A bit of a pointless exercise if you ask me but no doubt the FA need to justify to sponsors etc that they are doing their bit to safeguard the (their?) image of the game.

Maybe it would be class in the future if we once again had an Alan Shearer type character leading both club and country but for the moment I would say…thanks but no thanks.
